Wagamama’s new campaign markets vegan menu items and promotes plant-based diets to save the planet

Wagamama became the first UK restaurant chain to go 50% vegetable with their menu! This is a big step in the right direction as more and more consumers in the UK ask for herbal options and the desire to go herbal continues to grow in popularity.

Wagamama recently launched a campaign in conjunction with its new menu items. It includes a short video inspired by Kaiju, a Japanese film genre featuring giant monsters. The star of the campaign is a dinosaur called Vegamama, who is on a mission to help save the planet.

The campaign is shot in a very polluted modern scene. Vegamama bursts into the city, angry at the damage humans have done to the land. The ad ends rather abruptly after a Wagamama customer calms the dinosaur down by explaining that eating plants is the best way to help save the environment.

This campaign, while a little cheesy, is a great way to help people understand the goal to eat more plant-based foods. It’s about saving the environment, saving animals, and ultimately saving ourselves.
