Join us for Stock-tober and help students access free nutritious food on campus.
This annual Student Affairs fundraiser for the UVSS Food Bank and Free Store provides students with food and essentials while working to break down the stigma surrounding access to food banks.
With the rising costs of housing, child care and food, the need for support has increased. Every week, hundreds of UVic students come to the food bank and the free store. In September 2020 alone, more than 300 baskets were distributed.
Your support will give a helping hand to students who are struggling to cover their tuition fees and the cost of living, allowing them to focus on their studies and realize their full potential.
Support this important initiative by donating goods or funds from October 1 to 28 as part of the annual Student Affairs Stock-tober event!
This year, Island Savings generously agreed to match Stock-tober’s monetary donations of up to $ 2,500!

Collect donations in your office
Join your colleagues in collecting the items listed below throughout the month of October. Write to us and we will collect your donations by midday of October 28th.
Meet at our drive-thru at the Jamie Cassels Center on October 28, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. OR from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. A team of volunteers will be on hand to remove the donation items from the back seat or from the trunk of your vehicle.

Donation items accepted
UVSS Food Bank & Free Store offers a basket program for students. In order to keep the basket composition consistent, please donate only the items listed below.
Please note that we will not accept any homemade, already opened, perishable or expired items.
