Jeremy Rockliff, Prime Minister
Minister of Trade

Twelve of Tasmania’s leading food and drink producers will be exhibiting at Fine Food Australia, Australia’s leading gourmet food and drink trade show, this week.

This year the event will be held in Melbourne from September 5-8 with around 26,000 visitors expected, providing the perfect platform for targeted trade marketing activities in Tasmania.

We know Tasmania has what the world wants, and this is another great opportunity to showcase our premium products and grow our presence in the Australian domestic market.

Visitors can experience the latest innovative food products from Tasmanian companies including Northwest Abalone, Deep South Honey Cured Bacon, spirits from one of our top distilleries and cider from our delicious climate apples costs.

Supporting our producers and exporters to develop their markets is an integral part of our Tasmania Trade Action Plan 2022-2023, and delivering Tasmanian experiences at key national and international trade shows does just that.

Tasmanian businesses currently export almost $1 billion worth of food and drink products each year and exports from this sector are growing at over 8% annually, despite disruptions related to COVID-19.

With at least seven international trade missions and attendance at a series of domestic and international trade shows already planned, this further confirms our continued commitment to bringing our world-class quality to the rest of Australia and the world.
