The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce on Monday appointed Mallory S. Hines, a New Braunfels resident, as vice chairman of the convention and visitors bureau.
His responsibilities will include leading destination marketing efforts for the Town of New Braunfels.
âI couldn’t be happier to welcome Mallory to our team,â said Jonathan Packer, president and CEO of the chamber. âShe has a solid background in designing compelling experiences that people enjoy and is an exceptional leader. She also loves New Braunfels and I can’t wait to see what she, the Chamber and the city accomplish together under her leadership.
Hines joins the chamber after more than eleven years with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, where she most recently served as Head of Entertainment and Exhibitions.
In this capacity, she managed a large budget as well as the procurement, promotion and production of large-scale concerts.
She has also guided a team responsible for numerous profit centers, from food and drink to entertainment and games.
“I am grateful to have the opportunity to combine my passions for relationship building, creating experiences, traveling and the amazing destination of New Braunfels, with my ability to create income opportunities from those passions, âHines said. âIt is an honor to join the chamber’s dedicated team and showcase New Braunfels’ remarkable offerings.
Hines added that the difference between her new job and her previous one is an opportunity to tell people “how wonderful New Braunfels is”.
âI have made a career of creating fun experiences that we are happy to inspire people to join,â she said. “Now this experience is New Braunfels, so I’m really excited to be able to tell a new story of this amazing community for people to come and visit.”
Packer said there was a lot of interest from applicants locally as well as across the state and country.
âIt proves the reputation of our market and our tourism economy,â Packer said.
