PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – As temperatures rise, families will soon be able to cool off while enjoying a fun-filled day in Dollywood’s beloved Splash Country.
The park will open its doors for the 22nd season on Saturday, May 14. In a mountain hollow, Dollywood’s Splash Country will feature new improvements this year, including a new zero-depth play area, more entertainment and new dining options.
In response to two family needs, more accessible play space options and spaces for young families, the park will reopen its Little Creek Falls area as a zero-depth entry play space. It previously had 18 inches of standing water, but has since been redesigned to accommodate wheelchair users, those with sensory processing disorders and toddlers, a spokesperson said.
“At Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country, we are on a mission to create opportunities for families of all abilities and in all seasons of life,” said Jason Boothe, vice president of park operations. “We’ve redesigned Little Creek Falls, but that’s not all our teams have been busy with: we’ve resurfaced and repainted 17 of our slides, put new plaster on The Cascades, set concrete throughout the park, trimmed trees and planted new flowers and shrubs among other projects Families expect a high-level experience when they visit our destination, and that’s what we always want to deliver.
To enhance the guest experience, Splash Country officials have streamlined the walk-in process and provided additional shaded dining options for the family.
“As at Dollywood, we are always looking to improve the experience for our customers,” Boothe continued. “We’ve simplified the entry process with our new walk-in security check that doesn’t require customers to remove items from their pockets. And because customers have requested more dining venues, we’ve decided to offer the Big River Pavilion as an option for all customers this season. This new place will be a place to sit in the guaranteed shade to enjoy a delicious barbecue. In fact, our culinary team created a few other new menu items, including the debut of the Oakley Bros. Food Wagon (a macaroni and cheese food truck) near the wave pool. These upgrades along with the additional rides included in our TimeSaver H2O pass program ensure that we always listen and respond to customer feedback.
Through May 29, those interested can purchase a Waterpark-Only Season Pass for $109, plus tax, which includes unlimited visits to the park in 2022, a Bring-A-Friend ticket and a voucher. -meal.
A day ticket to the water park will cost $54.95 for adults and $44.95 for children. Buy tickets or get more information about the Dollywood website.
