At Pirates and Princesses, we’ve reviewed some of the best and worst Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary food items at each theme park. Today we take a look at the best foods at Animal Kingdom. Surprisingly, the decision was not easy. Before discussing the first three, this park deserves a few honorable mentions.
Honorable mention number one is the corn chip pie.

However, this dish lacks real creativity. Still, the taste experience is far superior to the average theme park food.
The other honorable mention seems to be a little tricky choice, it’s the 50th Celebration Chili Dog.

Even though the 50e The Celebratory Chili Dog looks basic and safe. The flavor delivers well. However, a hot dog made with venison pepper may not be the best choice with a Bambi 50.e golden birthday statue located in the same park.
Now we turn to the best choices….
Hand Dipped 50th Celebration Mickey Premium Bar ($ 6.69)
Customers find this simple-sounding treat at Drinkwallah. Now when I first heard about this article, I expected it to look more like the boring treats on Animal Kingdom’s worst list. The Disney menu description reads: “Our classic Nestlé Mickey’s Premium ice cream bar dipped in a blue raspberry flavored coating with celebratory sprinkles and a little pixie dust.” “
While I’m not impressed with the description, this tidbit does rank among customers. Walt Disney World patrons love Mickey’s standard ice cream bar. The chefs dipped these fan favorite treats in Celebratory Blue Raspberry for it. The “plus” coating of Walt Disney World’s staple snack. Of course, I have to mention the glitter. Still, sequins play a small role in this piece. Plus, the soaked coating really adds flavor. However, the soaked coating adds to the mess of the Mickey Bar. If you select this option, get plenty of paper towels.
Smoked Meatloaf Platter ($ 13.99)
Flame Tree BBQ serves this gigantic surprise on the “best” list. The menu description talks about “barbecued glazed homemade smoked meatloaf served with garlic bread, fries, baked beans and coleslaw”. The flavor of this hearty meal lives up to being on a “better” list. Some customers report having different sides, so confirm your options when ordering this. Even people who are not a fan of the meatloaf said they would order it again. As you might expect, meatloaf lovers enjoyed this dish.
50e Celebration Ice Cream Sandwich ($ 6.99)
The much-maligned region of DinoLand USA is giving this winner a treat. This dessert resides at Dino-Bites Snacks. This ice cream creation works simply like ice cream between two homemade double chocolate chip cookies. Plus, cookies greet guests covered in celebratory nuggets. Just to be on top, a 50e Birthday medallion adorns the ice cream sandwich. Now the guests have learned that you can get them with chocolate or strawberry ice cream if you want. The cookies themselves scream delicious! The cookie and ice cream combination works great. This ordinary looking treat satisfies the guests who get it.
On your next trip to Animal Kingdom, give them a chance. Remember that Disney is celebrating this 50e birthday for 18 months in total. You have plenty of time to enjoy.
